Just When I Thought It Was Safe
Ok folks. You are all probably starting to think that I am crazy. If you read my previous blog you will know that thing were all better with my newspaper. Or so I thought. After I posted the "redeemed" post today I went upstairs to make my lunch. I am in the kitchen and I see the papergirl across the street taking papers to peoples doors and politely placing them in the mailbox. What do I get on my side of the street you ask? That's right - a helper. A different helper. Okay. So I see her coming and I move out of the window and stand at the top of the stairs so that I can still see out the window in the front door but I am much less obvious. I don't want her to know that she is about to participate in a test. I see her coming up the driveway, then I can see her shadow AS SHE TOSSES THE PAPER AT MY FRONT DOOR.
THUD!
That's the sound the paper made as it bounced off my front door and landed on the doormat. I was dumbfounded. In fact, I still am. For a moment I thought that I was ready to throw in the towel (or the paper so to speak). I thought that maybe I had won the battle but really the "HELPER" has won the war.
But no kind readers, I cannot give up. I cannot let this HELPER beat me. I will win. The paper WILL go in the mailbox. I will enjoy a dry paper again!!! That's it for now. The next paper will arrive on Friday. We'll see how it goes.
