Vacation Faux Pas

As promised in my last post, here are some vacation faux pas that Cherie and I witnessed while in the Dominican Republic. There are many things that travelers should know before entering a foreign country!

Click on the pictures to make them larger.

1. First off we have the braids. This poor woman is a prime example of why braids should not be worn by those come from Canada. When tied (no pun intended) with with the tie-dye shirt she is a walking disaster.

NOTE: My better half has learned from her mistake of trips past and now understands the no-braid policy....

2. If your Pepsi bottle has a mysterious label underneath it, don't drink it.

3. Do I even need to explain this one?

4. If you are a pasty white guy, don't wear a hat and sunglasses on the first day of your trip or you will end up with a burn on only the lower half of your face. Further to this, if the next day you decide to forgo the hat in an effort to even out the awkward burn you will then end up with a horrific burn on your scalp that hurts for days and hurts even more when it comes into contact with water (either from the shower or the ocean...ouch.)

5. Check what year it is before you fly to the resort. Last time I checked it was 2007, Mrs. Costanza.

6. Thong bathing suit=no.

7. If you are going to wear the thong bathing suit while sunning yourself topless, make sure you do not look naked to those around you.

So anyone planning on taking a trip south this year, heed my advice and prepare yourself for these and many other faux pas you may witness.

The guy in the speedo pic....ok..is it just me or is that a wedding in the background taking place?! How would you like that un-invited guest to show up!? Makes that picture even MORE funny.
