Walk this way

I haven't had much to write about lately. I like to write when something funny happens, and obviously nothing lately has made me laugh, but then I got thinking about something I saw the other day...

(cue flashback music here)

I was sitting at a corner in my car, waiting for the light to turn green and there was this girl standing at the crosswalk. She was attempting to cross the street and obviously she was plagued by something- something that looked like frustration...anyways...she was pressing the button to get the walk sign to come up, something that looks like this:

So looking at the picture above she was trying to cross ---> this way (button on the left side in the photo). She was pressing that button as hard as she could and as many times as she could. Giving it all she had. One problem. She was pressing the button to go <--- this way. Now obviously she was new to the concept of the crosswalk button and was unfamiliar with the need to press ---> this way to walk ---> this way. Anyways, the light turned green and guess what she saw:

Thats right folks, do not cross. Anyways, had I have felt comfortable to yell across 2 lanes of traffic I would have told her she pressed the wrong button, but I didn't. So once she got the do not walk (and I got the green light) I drove away. I did look back in my rearview mirror and sadly, she was still pressing the <---- button. Poor girl. Must have grown up in an arrowless world. Someone must have saved her as when I came home she was gone, either that or she gave up on trying to cross the road and went back to her sad arrow-free world.
